Just wrapped up a wonderful stay here. Was upgraded to a Park Suite which was more or less amazing (probably the best room we had in our entire trip). Service was amazing and staff was helpful from the time we arrived til when we departed. Fresh flowers were given to us at check-in (as I reached out to the hotel to inform them my wife and I were celebrating a anniversary). Room was spacious, bathroom wonderful, and we loved the family room area with amazing views. I can only imagine the Presidential Suite with a baby grand piano.
Comments about the carpet etc being dated are spot on, but honestly the rooms are quite nice still - it's more or less the hallways. The lobby/check-in area was a tad confusing to find but staff helped us find our way.
View from the room and lobby floor (floor 41) were amazing, and though my wife and I found the evening reception a bit lacking in terms of food (quality and mostly selection). However the drinks were great, service fantastic, and ambiance/views exceptional. I did ask about guests and it apparently is now 6000 JPY/guest, not 5000 per the wiki. If someone else can confirm this as well maybe worth changing the wiki.
Breakfast at Girandole was amazing, as Globalists we could order anything from the menu plus the buffet area. Every item was superb and the quality of breads/pastries and fruits were all exceptional. Probably the best breakfast I have had in awhile (and is on par with my breakfast at the PH Sydney). Again service amazing and staff wonderful. I ate way too much food but again it was great.
Pool on top floor was amazing, though I found the lack of signage a bit confusing. Staff was amazing up there and if you want a great workout with amazing views the Park Hyatt can't be beat. Pool was nice, clean, and appreciated the towel/robes. Honestly though, I think I liked the spa/pool experience a tad more at the GH Tokyo (though the Park Hyatt had views).
Love the 4pm checkout - one of the things I'm going to miss dropping my Globalist status in a few weeks.
We walked to Shinjuku (with carry-on roller boards) and it took about 10 min. Didn't take advantage of the shuttle (as it goes to West Gate) but the walk wasn't bad at all.
Overall, would stay here again or the GH for sure. Might skip the HR next time though the price there can't be beat.
