Alright - so writing to you from Singapore!

After deplaning, we had to clear the incoming security again (not sure why they do this at AUH) and EY staff had signs that said that our flight was going to board via Gate 29. So I followed the signs, and reached the gate (which was a remote stand) where two staff had everyone sit down and relax for a couple of minutes while they got themselves organized. At around 0140 AM, we boarded via bus gates to a different Dreamliner which I guess happened to be an operational spare? and continued on with our flight relatively uneventfully, reaching again with a roughly 3:15 or so delay.

Again, I have to say that given a potentially terrible situation, their ability to find a replacement aircraft quickly, have all our luggage reloaded, and boarding the new aircraft within an hour of leaving the previous aircraft I think is relatively impressive. I'll also give a shoutout to the crew, who were excellent and provided fantastic service, good food and drink, and a wonderful personalized experience on First. Cheers!
