You have to wonder what is going with Vietnam. SIM cards with data are dirt cheap there but roaming is sky-high when available. My question is whether the Government has a hard time snooping on roaming phones and is trying to push people to buy local SIMs which are child's play to eavesdrop on.
each government has its own silly way of doing thing..... although I don't think forcing people to buy local SIM will facilitate government snooping...
Google will have to partner with a local carrier who will obviously comply with government demands.
