I’m not worried about whether or not offloading a bag is extraordinary - in fact, I agree with them that it isn’t their fault. I just think they are exaggerating how long it took in order to bring the “non-extraordinary” delay to just under 4 hours.
I’ve made notes on times while we were on the ground in HEL, but of course I don’t have physical proof. In retrospect, I should have taken pictures of the tail camera on the IFE showing what was and wasn’t happening around the aircraft while we were waiting on the ground, this might be a good idea for others in the future!
From what I’ve read on this thread, I was already thinking KRIL might not be a great option. What I will do is accept the €300 while mentioning that I don’t consider this matter closed in doing so. Indeed, there is no mention in the correspondence about this being a settlement and/or binding, so I’ll take the money now and revisit this when I’m back home in the UK in May...
