There are also a lot of other factors in play besides the card network(s) and issuers involved. For instance, I only noticed a 0.3% difference between Visa and MC last year with GBP purchases--not really enough to worry about as someone only visiting. (Chase also had a bonus UR offer going on for Apple Pay and other mobile wallet purchases, so even if it were close to a 1% difference it'd be no worse than what I'd have earned domestically without using AP.)
