I find the security lady at HKG to be strict about this.

They tend to be eyeing all your bags as you are approaching the check point...preapiring to stop you if you have a "big" bag and make you insert it into the "bag sizer" to show it doesn't fit. I have never not had my this general experience...the last time, the orange tag was "hidden" by the mutiple items I was also wheeling, and she was all-prepared to stop me, until I dug owns and displayed the orange tag, and she was all smiles.

The one time she let me go thru after I showed my FC boarding pass seemed like an exception...

IMO, I find that security is very vigilant on this issue.

On a seperate issue: they seem to have a problem with shaving cream cans at X-Ray and they always make me open up my luggage and show them my shaving cream, which is a real pain...next time, I'll have to use shavign cvream tubes.
