Take the Pacific Surfliner regularly for work and leisure. I/we always book Business Class car. We do so primarily (in addition to things mentioned above) because one has a guaranteed/reserved seat on the train in Business Class. During summer months or if there is a big convention in San Diego, the train can be sold out. Have witnessed Coach passengers find a seat in the Business car, and when the conductor asks them to return to Coach, they complain that there are no seats open in the Coach cars. They still have to return to Coach and hope for the best. Now, this time of year, the train is rarely sold out.
