Unfortunately, pleasant but incompetent just doesn't do it for me.

ANA's international lounges make Red Carpet Club look good.

I'd love to know what JAL's service is like, especially within Japan, since I find it hard to believe it could be as bad as ANA's.

If I go to Japan again, I'm more likely to fly ANA than JAL, because they are in Star Alliance. However, I'm even more likely to fly United, for the superior lounges and 200% mileage (as Premier Exec) instead of 70% on ANA.
