Hah, its just UAs typical pricing system(?) a blind man throwing a dart at a moving pricing board.
It's not unusual to see wide variations in pricing for city pairs. One of the best examples EWR-ORD-MSN @ % of the time EWR-ORD-MSN is less expensive than EWR-ORD.
