Ice cream, healthy diet and waste management

On LX's flights in C, my favourite culinary feature is the ice cream cone that is offered mid-flight. It is not that it is so fantastic, but it a nice snack that follows an often average meal.

Being a heavy eater, as soon as I finish my cone, I am tempted to ask for another one. Despite being slim and relatively fit, I feel embarrassed to ask for this second indulgence, probably reinforced by the previous intake of several refills of booze that already drew the light of shame on me.

Consistently, LX's crew satisfies my request. I get a new cone. But it does it with a certain reluctance that prompts me to always ask the same question: " So what are you going to do with this almost full and melting 5-liter container of ice cream after landing?". The answer is always the same: "It will go to trash". This always identical answer leads me to reply: "Oh, so it is fine if I get a few more scoops then". And the answer is: "Yeah, kind of".

LX's reluctance does not come from cost cutting incentives, as the ice cream is available and cannot be recycled into jet fuel or anything that would have economic value for LX. So where does this reluctance come from? I fear to say that my best guess so far is that LX's crews care about their passengers' dietary welfare.
