I never updated my comment -- but funnily enough on a stay in March on points at HR Tulsa, I got a bill for ~$35 on my room. I went to the front desk after breakfast asked if that isn't for some internal billing, they confirmed, apologized, and immediately removed the charges from my statement -- the card was never charged.
