Ink 48 - New York
What is your Priority Club status? Spire Inner Circle
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? I was happy. I got a great last minute rate and an upgrade when I wasn't sure if I would since I booked the morning of my stay.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? King Room - Last Minute Deal Rate / City View Studio King Room
How are the rooms? The room was nice. I love their soaking tubs they are even larger then the typical Kimpton tubs. The beds are a bit low to the ground if that bothers you. I prefer the decor after the refresh. I was on a low-ish floor so the view wasn't great and the windows were quite dirty which didn't help but for a last minute booking where not much upgrade availability was showing going into the stay I was happy.
How was your complimentary welcome amenity? It was just okay to me 1 bottle of water, two tiny cans of soda and a cheese plate but given I booked last minute I was happy to get anything.
Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take? I did not but I should have. I wanted to use the RTMB towards a restaurant bill but I didn't realize Kimpton doesn't own the restaurant.
Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? N/A
Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? N/A
What was good and what was bad? Good - Room upgrade last minute, good location coming from New York if you are staying the weekend there is plenty of free street parking which is nice, the wine hour had a nice selection, breakfast in the restaurant. Bad - The only bad I really had to note is the doormen at the hotel. While it was a busy weekend with a lot of people checking in and out because of the dog show I found the doormen to rarely be around to get a door for you. When they were around they seemed to mostly stay inside and kind of half-heartedly push the door open for you. This is being really nit-picky given there wasn't much to complain about but I did not this service was a lot different then what I am used to at Kimpton properties.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? I think the most value here is getting a last-minute deal rate or staying on a weeknight. Points were showing as 65,000 for Friday night when the last minute deal rate was $125. Depending on time of year and what is going on in the city I could see this being a good value.
