Just had this happen BWI-ATL the other day. They called and the person was in the row in front of me but he did not push the button and he said that he did not want them to kick him out of his seat. So they called his name again and he still didn't push the call button. Finally they called his name a third time and said that the flight is not going to ORL, and he immediately pressed his call button and jumped out of his seat. I am wondering how he got boarded in the first place?
Not always a harmless storyline. Imagine Caribbean agents discover at the last minute he is on a no-fly list. Unless he rings the bell, everyone gets off. Police have no idea where anyone is sitting.
