Not sure when it first re-appeared after want seemed like many years of appetizer roulette, but the Balik smoked salmon, topped w a few grains of caviar, is back (at least BOS-LHR in Feb).
I think this is far and away the best appetizer and should be a permanent staple (not that I would discourage BA from re-introducing caviar)! While I am a big lobster fan and Boston is a great lobster town, I have found the tiny cold lobster tails sometimes served as a "premium" appetizer to be underwhelming (likely previously frozen, tiny, and generally tasteless).
But the Balik Salmon is special. Make it a traditional signature item/BA First staple!
