Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver (Denver, Colorado, USA)
What is your Priority Club status? Platinum Ambassador
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked Deluxe Guest Room With 1 King Bed; Received Monte Carlo Suite 1 King
How are the rooms? My room on the second floor had 14 foot ceilings and a large window out to the street, both of which made the suite feel extra open and spacious. There's plenty of floor space, with the bed and living areas partly separated. Heating/cooling system was very quiet. The desk chair was a bit uncomfortable, but there's plenty of cushions on the couch to choose from to partly make up for it. Bed and pillows were comfy, with good access to USB plugs on both sides of the bed.
[If you are Spire]
How was your complimentary welcome amenity? Not Spire.
Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take? Yes, took a tin of cashews.
Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? N/A
Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? Didn't use the credit.
What was good and what was bad? Loved the spaciousness of the room. All the staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located in Lower Downtown (LoDo), and just a block away from the 16th Street Mall. There's also a Denver B-Cycle dock across the street. HDMI port on the TV was somewhat accessible; I was able to plug in my MacBook for Netflix.
The fridge was really noisy, so I unplugged it every night. And, the shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor no matter what I tried to do.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? Great value at an average of $168/night including tax. I stayed for 3 nights, but would have stayed for 4 if there was availability (went to the Crowne Plaza for the 4th night). I'll definitely consider this property for future stays.
