It's always interesting to see how the thread kicks off when you start it then go offline for a few hours. I can report back as follows: I didn't buy any wine because there was nothing that exciting with a screw top in the T3 duty free and champagne etc was only available either at room temperature or at restaurant prices. So BOB prosecco etc seemed like as good a deal as anything else. We had a chatty crew (we were seated in the first row of Y and they didn't seem in a hurry to move any further back after starting the BOB run) and were told that they don't normally have corkscrews on board SH, but they would be happy with us bringing and opening anything we liked (I assume one should add "within reason" but that wasn't actually said).

Along with the the directory of airside drinking water sources, as a result of this it might be helpful to compile a directory of airside chilled champagne / quality screw top wine sources.

I'm off to buy a security-compliant corkscrew.
