I'm new to the workings of Star Alliance but having moved to Antananarivo, Ethiopian is looking like a decent option to Europe so am trying to settle on a programme. So far I have two flights booked this year to LHR with ET, one in D class and one in Q class and probably one more flight later on in the year in. ET requires 50,000 to hit A* gold. But I see that Asiania's is a quite a popular choice to get A* gold, only 40,000 and keep status for 2 years with no requirement to fly any sectors.
Any ideas as to whether this would be a realistic option for me to credit ET flights to Asiana ?

Thanks for any help.
Your business class fares are fine for crediting to OZ as long as you avoid P class. (P only credits to ET and CA programs). Unfortunately though OZ's program is brutal for economy fares. Your Q fare will only net you 25% of your miles, which is nothing when trying to earn status. Do you fly at all otherwise or is it literally just these 3 flights a year? If that's the case, you may be better served trying for Sheba Miles Silver so at least you get some lounge access in ADD in transit.
