Now, goin thru this thread, starting to wonder if its worth it. Not that I have options - dont see any other hotel that we can pay cash rate for a week and has a pool (for the 5 year old). Have stayed in PH Vendome, and PH Sydney on points before - so have some experience with PH.
I had a wonderful stay at the PH NY in April 2017. It was on a points redemption. As an Explorist, they upgraded my room one level, which was very quiet facing in the direction of Central Park. Unfortunately, the view (or lack thereof) was the biggest drawback, as there wasn't much to see besides other adjacent buildings. I really liked the room itself. The location in Manhattan worked well. All the hotel service staff members were courteous, professional, and kind. If I were to receive the same treatment at the PH NY in the future as I did last year, I would happily stay at the Park Hyatt NY again. With that said, I would also be concerned about the alleged recent decline in service and amenities (restaurants?) which some on FT have reported.
