That would have been a standard action with smoke/fumes of unknown origin, turn off all the passenger cabin and galley electrics - presumably as you want to turn and turn off all non-essential stuff that could be the source.
There'll be a comprehensive checklist, though some of those are memory items, I am sure this would certainly be a way of finding out if you knew them.
