I am Gold, and seem to be having the same issue. Whenever I have gone recently to select a room using online check-in, I have been assigned a low floor room (including ground floor), even though my preference is for a high floor. Every time, I'm able to select a high floor room myself, but it's annoying my preferences aren't automatically being honored.
