Dude I think you invested more than $150 of your time and mental bandwidth I'm afraid. Let it go--get another one and chalk it off to the the unlucky things that happen time to time while traveling.

FWIW this time last year I was one hour into my amazing Qatar flight from LAX-DOH sitting in J. The guy next to me spilled the entire contents of his red wine glass onto my new slacks. The flight attendants tried a few things but the stain persisted and I threw them away. I chalked it up and decided it wasn't worth it that much stress and just bought another pair.
