I will fly from SFO to AKL and connect to MEL. There are two flights from AKL to MEL each day; the first one is United codeshare, while the second one (leaving 3 hr later) is ANZ only. Since I will arrive early in the morning from SFO, I would like to increase my layover time. What is the best way for getting on the later flight? By the way, the fare class is full-fare Y for AKL-MEL flight. Thanks.
Flexible Tasman fares still require the fare difference to be paid, which on day of departure is very likely to be high.
