I just booked a 3-night stay at this property using the "family rate" (get one room and get 50% off the second room) for 4 adults and my 7 y.o. daughter. It is still quite many months away (End of December 2018 after Christmas). Can't wait! I booked two luxury rooms. Very nice touch that the hotel actually sent me a personal email to confirm my reservations. And with it, they asked me when my flight would arrive, if we would like to make reservations for the restaurants and the spa, etc, etc...
I do have a couple questions for the group here...
First off, I don't have any status with Accor (I used to but I don't travel consistently enough nowadays to warrant any status. But I am Platinum with SPG - don't tell them that I am not staying at the Le Meridien

). Second, this is a trip consists of 3 generations. My "toddler" daughter, myself and my significant other, my mom and dad (60's). Third, my parents did go to Siem Reap a few years ago, so they just want to go again to relax by the pool and enjoy the cuisine and maybe "babysit" my daughter if I do want to venture out early/late. It will be my first time, so I definitely want to do a little touring of the temples, go to Pub street / night market, etc.
Anyway, here are some questions for you all who had stayed here before.
In one of the emails they sent me, they offered me an upgrade from the luxury rooms to junior suite for some money (I think it is something like 50 USD per night). The junior suite comes with breakfast (which our rate for the luxury room did not). The Jr. Suite also comes with complimentary bike use during the entire stay and late check-out. Do you think it is worth the money when considering the above mentioned context?
If a Jr Suite is a go, I wonder where my daughter will sleep at night? In other words, does the living room as a pull out couch? Or we just get the rollaway as we would have in the luxury room?
What is the appeal for the Jr. Suite vs the luxury room? I mean, without stating the obvious that it is bigger, get the breakfast, bike, late check-out, I guess it is nicer inside too. But what else?
As for the restaurants... Should we book a night at the Citadel (remember that we have a 7 y.o. kid?)?
Any other things I should think about?
Thanks in advance!!
