I'm based in DOH and will be in KWI on a business trip for a few days with just carry-on.

My next trip will be KWI-DOH-ATH <-- Different PNR than the DOH-KWI flight.
I'll be with my carry-on on the KWI-DOH leg but ideally i'd want to check-in baggage for the DOH-ATH leg.
My question is whether QR permits to check baggage on the second leg of a flight considering i will not have checked in anything on the first one?. I understand that means leaving the transit zone, going to the departures hall and checking the baggage at the counter - a friend will be bringing me my baggage at Hamad Airport as they have no baggage lockers.

Of course, time is an issue. My layover is almost 3hrs and with QR's counter's closing 1hr before the flight I need to be out of the airport within 1hr - doable if hell doesn't break loose and my friend is ontime :P

Any thoughts (or even better experiences), welcome.
