Agreed, I probably wouldn't recommend going through the hassle unless the pages are really important. For me, I'm down to 4 pages left, and I'll need to reapply for 3 visas ($600+) if I get a new passport. So I have a pretty big incentive to get my passport to last through middle of next year. I imagine it doesn't matter to most people nearly as much.
