Just checked in here last night into a King Suite with a TSU. Suite is very nice, similar to the pictures of the standard room shown above, and I appreciate the additional space and proximity to Ginza (where the wife wants to be all the time any way). However, I cannot help but miss being up in the clouds like at the PH or Andaz, watching Tokyo life go on from high above. The common areas, hotel, and restaurant have a very Andaz-lite/mini-Andaz feel to them.
Took the Keikyu line in from Haneda to Shimbashi Station (which is where we would get off for the Andaz) and then cabbed it. Cab fare was about 800 yen plus the 600 yen or so for the Keikyu line. Driver was unfamiliar with the hotel, but this is one area where the app came in handy because it allows you to quickly convert the English address to a Japanese address. Makes up for my sub-par Japanese!
Breakfast buffet was similar to the Andaz so no surprise there. Quite pricey--7500 yen for the two of us plus a 15% service charge for about 9400 yen all-in. Think this is on par with the Andaz and PH. Haven't tried the evening cocktail hour yet but may stop by.
Employees seem to be going above and beyond right now. One thing that did irk me a little was during checkin when I asked for a 4 pm checkout, only to be told that this is based upon "availability only" and they would have to check. The request was granted ultimately, but I didn't think the Centric would be classified as a resort.
So, as with all things in life, there are tradeoffs between the Centric and Andaz. It is ultimately nice to have more choices though!
