Is Chase OK with its cardholders buying Krugerrands (or similar bullion coins) via its credit cards? The purchase would total about $14,000. The purpose is not MS, merely diversification, but might Chase mistake it for MS, particularly if done in one fell swoop? In a related question, the Freedom Unlimited would yield the most URs, right?

The "friend's" reason is not what matters, it is the use of CC's to purchase cash which gives card issuers the shivers and is what ended the entire Bureau of the Mint episode.
If I were even remotely considering this, I would call Chase and ask before I acted. If this is not for anything MS-related, consider a wire transfer.
