Moral here -- check before you shell out the $8k or whatever how many e-upgrades you will need and how many you can earn for the period of the pass (5 round trips will need 110 e-upgrades) and make certain you will have the e-upgrades in your account before you will need to make reservations (b) P BIZ fares are now frequently a much better deal for our needs -- again you might want to check these out.
4. On the downside, it is worth adding that if you do not get an upgrade or are downgraded for any reason, then the pass can turn out to be a very expensive way to buy a Y ticket! Again, like canolakid that never happened to us but it is something to be aware of. Off course since you wold have a latitude ticket then you could always change to a flight with upgrade space.
Which is also why I am reluctant to buy another one this year after I use my last credit.
I also suffered a downgrade and met quite a bit of inflexibility on AC's part; to add insult to injury they waited until the night before the flighjt to let me know although the change in equipment had been made a few days ealier. I would argue that once the ticket has been issued, tariffs should guide irregular operations rather than the pass conditions. No way. I probably should have pursued the matter, perhaps to the CTA.
In addition, AC now has attractive P fares for two passengers to a number of destinations, which means I should not use a pass if travelling with my wife, so there is no longer enough trvel for passes for me. Interesting that they don't advertise these though.
