Experiences with latitude flight passes for Europe

I travel to Europe about 5 times each year, and weighing things up the flight pass looks like a good option for me. I normally fly Flex (with the occasional latitude), and my goal is always to be sitting in the front cabin. The main attraction for the flight pass is that while there's a slight increase in overall cost, it allows me to use my eupgrades more efficiently: I can actually use my "eUpgrade Credits for eligible Flight Pass activities", plus I'll be upgrading from latitude instead of flex so fewer eupgrades. So, before i pony up the $8100 for 6 flight credits I have some questions:
1. Ease of upgrading. I love booking latitude as I can immediately upgrade at the time of booking (and can select flights based on upgrade availability). Does this essentially work the same with a flight pass (you have access to the same inventory?), or are there some kinks? Can this all be done online, or is there a need to phone in?
2. Choice of flights. I have some trips to TXL, LHR, FRA, VNE etc this year. For LHR and FRA things are straightforward. But for non-mainline airports it gets more complicated. In the case of TXL (Berlin) AC flies direct (with Rouge) and then, of course there's all kinds of options via MUC, FRA, ZUR etc. I would always choose one of these latter options so as to avoid Rouge. However, when I use the 'preview available flights' on the flight pass page , the only option given to me is the Rouge flight for Berlin. Does this happen when you actually have a pass? If it does, that would totally suck!
Thanks!
