Remind them to check their reservations periodically for schedule changes/equipment changes that could result in them getting split up. Since they’ll be on two separate reservations the system will not know all four are traveling together and thus won’t automatically try to seat all four together in the event of any changes.
^^^ This. Linking the reservations just means a comment is entered in the notes screen. Someone would have to actually look at that screen to know the pax is traveling with someone on another PNR. The PNRs will not actually be linked together in any sort of electronic/digital way.
