Just booked an itinerary on DL.com tonight for travel in October, with two segments operated by KE (but still a DL flight number). It's my first time ever flying KE and was hoping to get some advice from others who have had recent experience. It's for a vacation trip to BKK (have been several times, but not since DL dropped the route).

My questions:

1. Will I be able to choose seats in advance? When I try to select on DL.com the seats for KE won't stick. Should I contact DL to obtain a KE reservation code? Or is there a better option?

2. On my receipt, the DL segments show the usual "OPEN" however the KE segments show "ARPT." Is this anything to be concerned about? Basically I just want the comfy feeling of knowing my reservation is properly ticketed and confirmed.

Perhaps I'm over analyzing all of this, but this is my first trip using a different carrier. I've seen similar threads out there, but hoping for recent experience. With DL's dismantling of NRT I knew the day would eventually come I had to book an itinerary partially operated by another carrier. FWIW, the DL segments are C+ (W) and the KE segments are economy (T).
