From where I'm standing the lower annual fee is the main reason. I already get bag fee waiver, premier boarding, and CPU eligibility based on my MP status so the Chase card gives me nothing additional on those items. I don't care about PQD waiver and the FHB card gives me the same 1 award mile per dollar on standard purchases and 2 award miles per dollar on United purchases that I get from Chase so this just might be an option for me next year. The one other thing I get from Chase that I don't see from FHB would be the 2 lounge passes per year which I've gottten used to having.
If the annual fee is a concern, the closest analog to the FHB card would seem to be the Chase United MilegaPlus Awards Card: same AF, same earning rate, same features. Why not just downgrade the
MilegaPlus Explorer to that if you can go without the Club passes?
