I’ve had a seat assignment change twice on US Airways, but I was switched to seats similar to the ones I had originally reserved. One of these occasions I was traveling with someone and we were both together after the switch. Also, both times was due to a switch of aircraft that were of different size and configuration. On Delta, I’ve experienced this several times, to the point I try to avoid booking Delta as it’s not worth the hassle. It is like they throw all of the reservations up in the air and wherever they land is your new seat. Delta gets high marks for their service but AA does a much better job of reaccomdating passenger to a similar seat - something Delta should think about doing. I also don’t buy their response as to why seats are switched, or lack there of. This isn’t the first time I’ve read this on this board.
