KL flight number means KLM marketed; DL flight number means Delta marketed. If your AMS-INV flight was booked as a KL flight number in coach, you would need an expensive fare bucket to be able to upgrade. Since it's a short flight and KLM business class is only slightly different from coach on short flights, it's probably not worth trying to get the upgrade -- good that you have it confirmed on the long flight though.
