The self serve checkin machines will also reprint boarding passes where available. It may be worth trying removing the QF number and reinserting it back in via the Finnair site a few days before OLCI.
I do indeed make the booking through my BA account first, choose my seats for free (as a silver), then change it to my QF number later through the Finnair site.

I wonder whether I should enter my QF number at the time of booking and whether that would make a difference. I shall try.

Actually, I remember doing this once and lost the ability to choose seats so went back to adding my BA number first then changing it later.

PS I just looked back at an old QF mobile BP when I was BA Gold / OWE. It didn’t reference my Emerald status on the front either, only by flipping my BP. Maybe it’s just one of those things.
