When we arrived after midnight at Changi (thanks to a Scoot delay) we had some trouble logging on to the Uber app. So we just took a cab. I saw a sign suggesting that there was a significant late night surcharge, but my fare was still under $30 to Little India, so no real complaints. On the way back, we used the new Uber Flash program for an early morning flight. A really good ride -- way better driver and car than anything I've ever had in the USA -- but the pricing mechanism was annoying.. While we we looking to book the trip (shortly after 6 am) the pricing surcharge was fluctuating wildly. Within 3 minutes, we saw everything from $19 to $29, We paid $23. Is that "normal"? It obviously wasn't a peak time, and kind of makes booking a PITA. I wouldn't think this would be a successful business model.
