Sometimes you can provide the documents to a branch that the online rep and you agreed upon. It is primarily to prove your ID. Happened a lot if yu have recent address change and the credit reports have not been updated with such change. There are other things cause ID verification required. Next time when you apply ANY Chase card, just call the Status automatic line - if the message is 30 days, your application is in limbo, not yet be reviewed. If the message is 2 weeks, your application is in the process of being reviewed and most likely being approved. If the message is 7 to 10 days, your application is denied.
I applied for the Marriott Business and called the reconsideration line since application went on hold.. Don't ask why I called since it seems I have selective amnesia as I completely forgot about this & other threads stating to avoid calling Chase business consideration line (which I had read earlier)

After 15 minutes of grilling and reviews, they said that I will be getting a letter asking for my SSN to be faxed or verified in a Chase branch ! I already have couple of cards including CSP with them and also a banking relationship with them, so they have my SSN. Any specific reason that they still wanted this and also, what does this indicate about the chances of getting this card post SSN verification in branch ?
