Living in SFO, for a lot of trips my main choices are often AS/VX and UA. They seem to be about the same on average -- sometimes one is cheaper, sometimes the other is.

Anything with an AA codeshare always seems to be ridiculously priced... like, 3-5x what it would be on another airline (or on AS metal). Does anyone buy these things?
