Bump on this question. Surely someone has requested to cancel one passenger on a companion ticket? I'm wondering if it's possible to keep the other ticket alive or not or at what cost.. TIA

i realize i will not get the companion code back and i do not care at this point.

a secondary question is, if i decide to travel, can i cancel the companion off the ticket and get a credit certificate back for their $99 'fare' plus taxes, while leaving my ticket intact? i would rather not cancel the whole thing and rebook because i'm already upgraded with GGUs (transcon).

I'm toying w the idea of using the companion ticket to fly IAD-SEA with my son, but he has to go back about four days before me ... once we get to SEA, can I just cancel him off the return?
