driving is a poor option. Use your Varig AirPass (issued by Continental), and squeeze in a couple of other segments in Brazil (Pantanal, Amazone, Salvador). As long as you do not back-track, and travel within 30 days, your Varig options will be almost unlimited (and relatively inexpensive). Flying (counter-) clockwise will do the trick.
