All the cards shown on the drop down offer "lounge access" as part of the American Express cloud 10 program. Dig into the
terms and conditions and have a look at points 1 and 2:
- Subject to space availability. American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Reserve Cardmembers or American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Platinum Cardmembers may access the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, where available, upon presentation of their American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Reserve Card or American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Platinum Card and a confirmed, same-day departing ticket on a flight operated by Air Canada, Air Canada rouge®** or under the Air Canada express®** banner. Also applicable on same-day departing Air Canada codeshare or select Air Canada partner airline flights. For a nominal entry fee, Cardmember is permitted paid guests in the lounge, pending space availability. Access is subject to Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge terms and conditions and may not be available due to unforeseen circumstances. Other conditions apply. Supplementary AeroplanPlus Reserve Cardmembers receive Maple Leaf Lounge access. Supplementary AeroplanPlus Gold Cardmembers do not receive Maple Leaf Lounge Access.
- Canadian Platinum Lounge Benefit - Holders of eligible American Express® Cards (The Platinum Card®, The Business Platinum CardTM from American Express®, the American Express® Corporate Platinum Card) ("Eligible Cardmembers") may access participating Canadian and International airport lounges ("Participating Lounges") on a complimentary basis. Participating Lounges may change from time to time. To access a Participating Lounge, Eligible Cardmember must show a valid, unexpired eligible American Express® Card, airline ticket for travel on the same day and government issued photo identification in the name of the Eligible Cardmember. Eligible Cardmember's spouse and 2 children under the age of 21, or one travel companion, may enter a participating lounge as complimentary guests. Guest must accompany eligible Cardmember; show a valid airline ticket for travel on the same day and government-issued photo identification to access a participating lounge. International Plaza Premium Lounges, maximum of 2 hour stay. In Québec City's Jean Lesage International Airport VIP Lounge, eligible Cardmember's children must be under the age of 18. House rules, terms and conditions of Participating Lounges apply. Use of Participating Lounges is subject to availability. Unless otherwise stated, Participating Lounge access cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or benefit and is subject to change or cancellation at any time.
My reading of the above is that the cards outlined in point 1 allow access to the MLL whereas those outlined in point 2 have access to "participating lounges" which, conveniently, don't seem to be described anywhere on the cloud 10 microsite.
However, I logged into the "Platinum Benefits" section of my Amex profile and, as a Platinum Card cardholder (
not Business Platinum) entitled to the
Canadian Platinum Lounge Benefit, I see the following participating lounges:
Maybe someone with a Business Platinum can go through the same exercise and see exactly what they're entitled to access. I'm happy that pentiumvi got in last week, but the
Business Platinum's details page suggests that airport lounge access is part of the "
Canadian Platinum Lounge Benefit" which is exactly the same as the regular Platinum Card.
Per the wording of the T&Cs and all the info available online, I wouldn't count on MLL access with the Business Platinum.
