I can see all the flights correctly listed in the ' Manage My Booking' section for both QF OZ flights and QF USA flights ( managed by AA) . I had to call AA today to reserve seats on the USA leg of the journey. It was easy, immediate and all completed quickly. The information was updated online almost immediately. She also asked for an RL number - RecordLocator number and also the AA flight numbers. When I told her I had neither - only a Qantas booking ref and Qantas flight no's for the American journey she was great and sorted that as well. It took all of 6mins 35s including waiting time. I was impressed.
Now the AA website shows me the correct flights and seats as well when I login to their site. The issue ( and I appreciate it might well be me being anal ) arises if there is a change to flights. While it appears in the manage my booking page online ( after I accept the changes) there is no ticket update to let me know. Nothing is re-issued so I have two options - either call the contact centre and sit on hold then ask them to re-issue new E tickets via email or I use the self service part of manage my booking to re-send the Itinerary. That appears to be the issue - given the Itinerary is also an invoice ( which hasn't altered) their systems lock it down so it can't be changed and hence only shows what was originally booked. It's taken me a week of back and forth comms to get someone in the know to confirm that doesn't work and why. I have several emails all explaining the same thing but have quoted the shortest part " The Eticket won't reproduce for you as it is also an invoice, and there were no monetary changes after the reissue of the ticket, and as it is a zero balance it is automatically suppressed by the system. This is because the eticket had been reissued due to schedule changes."
Thanks again
