Just stayed here (Jan 27 - Feb 2) as a plat on points. Many rooms are currently undergoing renovations and will be ongoing until June or July is what I was told. When I was there all the ohana suites, top two floors of bldg 2, rooms in bldg 5, were being renovated. So rooms are tight and the lounge is now at the black rock lounge. Also the beach at Kaanapali is experiencing some heavier than normal seasonal erosion but the beach to the north is in great shape.
