There is nothing, of course, that prevents you from doing so anyway!
Or perhaps just use a Dremel to grind out the card number, chip and magstripe, so you end up with a metal card with a few holes in it. Or perhaps just a few rubbed-out spots on it. Then throw it in a drawer so you have it to use as a shim, a putty knife, a butter knife, a pastry cutter ... the possibilities are endless!
