If you live in SEA, AS is an excellent option - offering more domestic flights and destinations then any other carrier at SeaTac.

Something else to keep in mind if you are flying out of Sea-Tac: Fog.
AS has equipped their aircraft and their crews to handle fog which occurs often at SEA, and even more up in Alaska.
Southwest does not, IIRC, have the same equipment (such as HUD and GPS-landing assistance) and will cancel flights to Seattle more often than AS. Also, AS can and will land at BFI if that is an option when the fog blanket is high, covering SEA but not BFI.
You'll also find other opportunities to earn AS miles when living in Seattle, such as shopping at Safeway, etc.
