Stayed here for a quick overnight on a reward stay. Due to a late arrival, I was given the last available room which was a smoking room. My profile states I prefer non-smoking and I would assume even for a lowly Silver member they'd try to pre-assign rooms based on preferences. According to the receptionist, there would be no smell.

I was given a corner room in the 'Serangoon' wing, which is in the building opposite the main reception. You can cross the street and take the elevator up or go the 4th floor in the main building and then cross. The room, as is known, was indeed small as was the bathroom. The standard HGI features and amenities were available. Unfortunately the room had a strong smoke odour. I called down but unfortunately the hotel was completely sold out. The clerk offered to comp breakfast but as I was in Singapore for a food trip, I declined. I did send a tweet to Hilton and when I woke up I had a message in my inbox apologizing for the smell and 5000 points.

The rest of the hotel offers a pool, Garden Grill, fitness, two PC-stations in the lobby.

The clièntele of the hotel is, interesting. Front desk is constantly occupied with complaining guests, especially a tour group leader.

Hotel location is fine if you travel with the MRT. Little India station is only a couple minutes away. Considering the high prices for other hotels in Singapore, the reward rate was good value and for that, the hotel was fine. However I can't imagine how they there to charge EUR 150 and up for those cramped rooms on paid rates!
