It took me more than a year to plan to get the Plat Business card because I had to make sure and find a way that I am able to spend $5000 in 3 months. That's a lot of money for a short period of time when there is no "big purchases". So in the next 2 months I am going to be buying a couch set, some home threatre upgrade and a ski weekend with friends. For this, I am paying for the hotel which is about $500 that we will divide into 4 , I will try to pay for the lift passes and lunch and dinner then we can all divide it too.

If you have a SO plan with that person or your immediate family to pay for gas and groceries and they give you cash. Also your cable/internet/wireless and other bills. Even if you "pay" to use your Credit Card it might be still worth it, hopefully they take AMEX.
