8/13: AA3634 ORD-DSM: No drink or snack service the entire flight. No mention of a reason either. Emailed AA about it and received a cop-out reply, no compensation offered, although I did not ask for any.
I had a similar situation and asked for my 500 Mi Upgrades back, they countered with 5K AAdvantage miles. They view the value of first as strictly more room, I thought to check their marketing of first to see if I could call them out for advertising "better service" etc, and they wisely do not make that claim.
