Just get on the direct bus, it's too far from Pudong Airport to the Hongqiao Railway Station, it takes forever to get to the station.
I've never been to Tongli and don't know how prosperous that place is, but there may be some small local restaurants there. If not, I suggest you to find McDonalds or KFC, some McDonald's open 24 hours. McDonald's in Asia are far better than those in US, I strongly suggest you try at least once.
