I'm SE and am taking the family to Florida on an Aeroplan redemption before the 2017 eupgrades expire. My wife is already nominated as my eupgrade recipient and I have enough about-to-expire eupgrades to put her into business class, leaving me minding the kids in economy. I asked AC and they said:
1) because we're travelling on the same ticket, I can't nominate only her in advance, so I should have put her on a different reservation;
2) I may be able to upgrade her at check-in; is it possible to do that during an online check-in; or will I have to wait to check in at the desk and ask?
